Life in quiet Sanstone, Prescott County, Minnesota was rocked by the discovery of a body at the bottom of iconic Glacier Cliff in the Prescott Game Preserve. If you haven't read the first book, The Sand Dancer, sufficient backstory is included to allow the reader to begin here- although once you read this book you'll want to read more anyway!
Wonderfully descriptive prose paints the scene and the author nails the small-town feel. Everybody knows everybody and their business. It's hard to keep a secret, let alone hide a killer, but the story will keep you guessing until the end. It also touches on the real and far-reaching consequences of drug use.
Thad Wheeler is one smart detective, digging deeper into one tantalizing lead after another, and Frank's old connection to the recent case ramps up the intrigue. I didn't want to put it down!"

“I haven’t read the previous books in the series, but this book acts as a stand-alone as well as a series. I love mysteries and true crime, and this book had me hooked! I found myself reading much more than I had anticipated, wanting to read past my appropriate bedtime… Carrie, Thad, and Frank really stood out as wonderful, realistic characters, and Lydia Emma captured the small-town gossip mill very well. I want to know more about the characters and their stories, so I think I will have to backtrack to the first book. What I really appreciated about the book is that I thought I knew what was happening and who was guilty, but I didn’t! And the addition of another whole crime…I want another book about Billy Wade and the raid. I really am invested in Thad Wheeler’s story now!”
