The Divine Intervention
of Chance
I had several profound feelings of Divine Intervention when finding, falling in love with and buying my first horse (Chance) which was a dream come true. Over time, I learned to listen to this guiding force in my life, and it has never steered me wrong or let me down. Chance saved me. I would later save him in return. Whether or not you’re a horse person, I feel this book will give you some helpful life lessons and insights I have learned when dealing with loss, trauma and everyday stressors. I am dedicated to sharing what I have learned and the healing I have received, and the beautiful grace and glory of his spirit.
One of my dearest friends inspired me to write this story. His name is Chance. He has become my best friend. Yes, I admit it. A horse is one of my best friends. He came into my life during a time I was unsure how to go on. The connection with him has opened my heart and mind in such magnificent ways. I don’t know if I will do the story of our meeting justice, but I am sure as hell going to try. We have had such a beautiful bond the past twelve years. It has been devastating for us both the times we have had to deal with illness and losses. The healing and lessons I have learned from this beautiful powerful being will live inside me for the rest of my life. I know that his presence has made me a better person. I did not know in the beginning that a horse would have such a profound impact on my life and path.
Patricia Schulte-Lueth - Author
My husband and I have three grown children. We are very proud of them all, and they are my greatest blessings in life. We also have two rescue dogs and two cats, and I have my horse, Chance. I consider and justify the cost of owning a horse by knowing he is my hobby, therapy and exercise. My husband has a different kind of horsepower/hobby - a 1969 Corvette.
I am a Personal Care Assistant/Caregiver for a young man with special needs, and an elderly gentleman in memory care. I was a stay at home mom for fifteen years when my children were young. I enjoy family and friend gatherings with all kinds of games including ping pong and pickle ball. I also love to paint, and read books in my spare time. My favorite quote is “My therapist lives on a farm.”
