Pam McDonald - Author
Pam McDonald is a former career elementary educator. Pam developed her passion for working with kids early on in her hometown of Chicago. From volunteering in kindergarten classes at an early age to working for the Chicago Park District as a pianist during her days at Taft High School, Pam knew that her future was working with children. She continued that passion at the University of Illinois where she majored in Elementary Education, eventually moving on to the University of St. Thomas where she earned a Masters's degree in Gifted Education. Along the way, she taught in a variety of school districts throughout Illinois and Minnesota. Her favorite part of the school day was always exposing her students, especially her underserved gifted students to new ideas, new books, and undiscovered authors.
Now retired, Pam spends her days with her husband at Camp McDonald on the shores of Lake Marion in Lakeville, Minnesota. Most days she can be found kayaking, riding her bike around the lake, or reading in her favorite beach chair. Her best times are spent with the other campers… her four daughters, their husbands, and her eleven grandchildren.
The Christmas Heart, based on a true story, is her first children’s book.
